The two playtests went rather well. I have made the recomended changes. Still need to work on the character sheet, though. I'll work on that later in the week and hopefuly get it done in time for the next run through.

I think we should expand the playtesting to Friday and Saturday. Friday will be used to test out the engine and power sets while Saturday shall be used to test out new Villain Groups and scenarios.

Two days of playtesting down. Lots of updates and changes to make, The most intensive one will be changing the Durations from turns to phases.  Badassed Brandy is working on the Stone Tank and with the increase in tough to become invulnerable, the Tank just needs two secondaries and a few Primers. then there's the controller/regulator/stop moving class, which is more than bare.

I'll make thechanged andhave the new doc up in a few days.

The version for the playtest is uploaded, the link is avialable in the Developers' forums. No Regulators or Tanks, but the otheer classes are well enough represented that a solid playtest should result.I have also decided that once the game mechanics are worked out, we will use a common enemy group to playtest the power sets and then balance other groups from power sets that are already ballenced and further balance both the power sets and the groups.

The cover will look like a comic book and the back will be an informative panel, muck like the back of a software box. It will have screen shots, system requirements, and features, such as a built-in voice client.

Of this the only part finished is the LOGO.

What the Hell is Fracture?
         Fracture will be a super-hero MMORPG-RPG. I’ve had enough questions from tards to be forced to answer a few questions. No, it is not an MMO, that’s why it is followed by a -RPG. It is an RPG that plays like an MMORPG. More to the point, it plays like a standard turn-based RPG video game, but it will have an auction house, so I feel it is appropriate to attach the MMO portion to it. Modules will be released and after collecting outcomes, the world could change some. There will be modules for divergent story paths and canned missions.
         Unlike some larger and defiantly better funded projects, such as one that rhymes with Mungeons and Mragons, we not only admit that the game is MMO-like, but embrace it. Hell, the first two pages are the End User License Agreement and the back has screen shots of players playing the game.
         In short, what is Fracture? Answer, far from finished.

Here’s a list of changes to Fracture made because of the recent playtest and natural progression of the game to greatness.

  • Added Karate and Claws Melee Primary Power Sets.
    The retention and timing usage of Respecifications is more defined.
  • Added Accuracy to Classes.
  • Changed the turn from ten phases with ten Action Points to five phases with two Action Points in each phase.
  • Added Power Pools, which allow players to place Action Points in them and gave them the ability to drain one pool into another for the cost of half the original pool.
  • Now know the need for power cards and counters for keeping track of Stamina and Action Points in Power Pools.
  • Line of Sight is now blocked if the line is crossed by any model.
  • Nerfed the NPC damage to half that done by PCs.
  • Characters have two movement points per phase.
  • If a character is killed, he is out for only a single turn.
  • Players may choose if the PCs or NPCs go first or second.
  • All characters have an initial 1D resistance to common damage types (Thermal, Kinetic, and Electric).
  • Need to make a GM Encounter sheet.
  • Changed the way Movement Powers work.
  • Added Designer notes for the Erratic Primer
  • Changed the expansion of AoEs
  • Revamped the character sheet.
  • Toxic damage secondary is –Resistance.
  • Energy secondary is Knockback.
  • Allow players to take a Power Enhancement at level 1.
  • Bumped the cap up to 60.
  • Adding Ninjitsu and Regeneration Secondary Power Sets to the Melee Class.
  • Some document cleanup and typo fixes.
  • Took it to Sam’s girlfriend.

That’s it folks. The designers would like to keep working on Fracture, but we’re all a little randy, so we’ll separate and spend a day or so with a bowl of Jell-O and some Teletubies DVDs. I mean seriously, we do still have to put some pigment on small pieces of metal and plastic.

First Playtest The first Developer’s playtest went rather well and Fracture has since undergone major changes in preparation for the next session. At least one Primary, Secondary, and Primer will be available for each class, with two of each ready for the damage classes (Caster and Melee). The first page of the character sheet will be available for the occasion (for now it can be downloaded). And, far from least, the logo is basically done.

Next on the list will be working on the Presence / Taunt system, a sheet to help GMs keep track of the variety of information required to run all of the NPCs, more Class Power Sets, Generic Power Sets, and Item Powers.

For those who are interested, the content from the Old NeoKaw is available HERE. The forums will soon be opened up to the public so that they may be promptly ignored by a largely ignorant public who is either engaging in the great Western tradition of consuming passive entertainment or the more carnal pursuits, which are generally the subject celebrated in works by tattoo artists and contemporary musicians.

NeoKaw is being redone. The new focus will be on creating games. Specifically, Fracture, a Super-Hero MMORPG-RPG. Right now the game is still being developed and we will solicit applications for playtesting when the damn thing is somewhat ready.


NeoKaw will remain fanatic and still continue to deliver content covering other games, modeling, painting, and all the other reasons the Enlightened continue existence in this world dominated by ignorant savages.
